Vlaanderen Part 2
I was a little worried about the distance not because I have never ridden 230km before, it was more because I know how badly you can completely fall apart north of 180km of riding. I felt a little unprepared. I explained these concerns to my wife Sam and all she said to me was, “you’re soft.”
Vlaanderen Part 1
We traveled to Belgium specifically for one of the biggest bike races of the year, de Ronde van Vlaanderen or in English, the Tour of Flanders. Because of the timing, we likely experienced the “cycling religion” at it’s greatest intensity. With this in my, the Belgian cycling culture is awesome, and the experience quite literally began from the time we walked off the airplane.
Shimano Gran Fondo Aftermovie
Adding a video component to our content spread has been a goal and before today we didn’t have a means to do so. We really wanted to capture what the Shimano Gran Fondo and our events in general are about. To extend we wanted to way to express what cycling means to us and hopefully what it means to all of you, our supporters.
Given there are many cycling events and for that matter, many jerseys given out at said events, I’d like to think that the story behind FRETORI and the Shimano Gran Fondo presents something that’s both engaging and unique. I want to create something that can be felt and coveted.
Why do you ride # 10
I ride because of how it connects me to the people and places around me.
Why do you ride # 8
I devoted all my efforts to being the best I could be at my new job. My work-life balance was off and I needed to get back into sports. I decided to take my Dad's bike out for a spin and after ten minutes I was hooked.
Why do you ride # 7
But mostly…I ride because it makes me happy.
Why do you ride # 6
Through cycling I’ve found a new group of friends. It's a group that continues to grow with the sport and the club I’m a part of. There is something about cycling that makes it unique from other sports.
Why do you ride # 3
I simply see cycling as a large part of my everyday life, it’s no different than brushing my teeth or pouring my first cup of coffee in the morning.
Why do you ride # 2
I ride because I love bicycles. You leave a piece of yourself on the road, on the top of a mountain, on a hairpin turn, or on a town line sprint every time you ride.
